What is your China strategy ?
Monday, June 25th, 2007Similar to the fashion of Japan in 1964, Germany 1972, and South Korea 1988, China is planning a big ‘re-introduction’ of itself to the world stage with the Olympics in 2008.
As China is now the largest population of mobile phone users and the fastest growing Internet and consumer market, a point will be reached in the near future that half the activity and half the content of the Internet will be Chinese.
So do you have a strategy for Chinese users, and do you have a strategy to develop Chinese language content ?
“Build it and they will come” may have worked in English, and for the first wave of Chinese Net users with strong English skills.
The new mantra for China is likely to be : “Build it in Chinese and the Chinese may find it.”
